About Verity

Founding partners lead every engagement, not a junior associate.

Verity is a Main Street and lower middle market business advisory firm representing owners of privately held companies valued up to $20mm across the United States.

Sectors we serve

We work with Main Street builders and founders — trades, construction and construction-related manufacturing, home services, auto services, and professional services such as architects and accountants.

These are established, cash-flowing blue- and white-collar businesses. We do not advise tech or software startups, or owners raising capital for unproven products.

“We only take on engagements where we believe there is a credible path to closing.”

Nick Brunelle

Founding Partner — Washington

Nick Brunelle is an entrepreneur, business owner, investor, and M&A advisor with a career built around growing companies, leading teams, and getting deals done.

Nick spent much of his career in executive sales and growth leadership within the medical device and technology industries, working with organizations ranging from entrepreneurial ventures to publicly traded companies. At the same time, he has spent years starting, acquiring, investing in, and operating businesses across technology, medical devices, professional services, consumer products, and construction.

That experience is at the heart of his approach at Verity Business Brokers.

Having sat on both sides of the table, Nick understands that selling a business is more than a transaction. He knows firsthand what it means to build a company, employ people, take risks, navigate difficult years, pursue acquisitions, work with lenders, negotiate deals, and have your own capital on the line.

At Verity, Nick works with business owners to prepare, position, market, negotiate, and successfully sell their companies. His approach combines the competitive mindset of a career sales executive with the practical perspective of an entrepreneur and business owner. His goal is simple: understand what an owner has built, protect the value they've created, find the right buyer, and get the deal across the finish line.

Nick continues to own, operate, and invest in businesses today, keeping him closely connected to the same challenges and opportunities facing the entrepreneurs Verity represents.

Nick attended William Penn University, where he studied Biology, Chemistry, and Business while playing collegiate baseball for the Statesmen and earning Academic All-American honors during the NAIA Baseball World Series.

Outside of business, Nick and his wife live in Lake Tapps, Washington, with their three kids. When they're not chasing kids around, they enjoy staying active through fitness and sports, traveling whenever they get the chance, and making the most of life in the Pacific Northwest.

Devin Craig, Founding Partner — Washington

Devin Craig

Founding Partner — Washington

Devin is a Principal Managing Broker and brings more than 15 years of M&A, ownership, and advisory experience, with a career spanning leadership, operating, investing, and deal work across finance, healthcare, franchising, and private equity.

Before co-founding Verity, he gained extensive experience as a business broker and investor, following an operating and management career that included leading regional programs at DaVita Kidney Care. That mix of operating and buy-side experience shapes how he prepares a business for market and how he reads a buyer across the table.

He works closely with owners preparing for transition, with buyers, and throughout the sale process, with attention to people, process, culture, and outcome. Based in the greater Seattle area, Devin also writes and speaks regularly for owners weighing when — and how — to exit.

Erik Trefzger

Founding Partner — Tennessee & Washington

Erik Trefzger is an entrepreneur, investor, and Washington Real Estate Managing Broker, who splits his time between Tennessee and Washington. For more than 20 years, he has built, operated, and sold businesses, giving him firsthand insight into what owners need when preparing for a sale.

As Verity Brokers’ real estate expert, Erik brings added perspective to transactions involving commercial real estate, owner-occupied properties, investment assets, and business sales where real estate is a major part of the deal.

His approach is practical and owner-focused: protect confidentiality, attract serious buyers, structure the deal properly, and maximize the value of what the owner has built.
